Marie reported on the survey of Red Light Runners (summary will be placed on website) .
For example- at Point Chevalier 236 cars, 11 buses and 18 trucks went through red lights, in a space of 8 hours: 442 cars, 21 buses and 20 trucks crashed the amber to red. At Queen St 161 cars, 38 buses and 26 trucks went through red lights in 8 hours.; 565 cars, 83 buses and 51 trucks crashed an amber to red light.
Our objectives will be achieved when vehicles no longer run red lights and drivers are trained to ‘slow down’ NOT ‘speed up’ at the amber light.
Summaries have been sent to –Police Traffic dept. AA Driving School, Maxx Buses, NZ Herald, Walkit,
