Brain storming cycleways meeting on Thursday Pedestrian and
Cycleways through parks should remain as part of the park and not an alternative transport route. Kit submitted that NO parkland
must be reassigned to other uses until it has been passed by
WalkAuckland and all interested groups.

Report on Living Streets AGM in Auckland. On the Walk with
Celia on Sunday she pointed out that the Tactile pavements for
the visually impaired were incorrectly laid.

Communication from Minnie Baragwanath, disability advisor for Council requesting support from WA in a campaign in the last week of January 2006. Council is working with the Foundation for the Blind to increase awareness in Council, general public and businesses about the problems that obstacles on footpaths can create
for blind/disabled/pushchairs (all pedestrians actually). If ACC uses
the ‘yellow feet’ we would ask them to add Land Transport Rule
2004 2.13 A person must not drive a motor vehicle on a footpath

A database format for our website was presented by Ron so that people with queries on pedestrian rights and safety can access answers.

The public toilet in the shopping centre in Mt Eden has been closed. A request was made for WA to picket the closure. The group decided it was not our role.

The engineer involved in planning the upgrade of Grafton Bridge has stated that pedestrian access will not be blocked during the upgrade. We must get this in writing
