Kit and Graeme will walk this on May 12.
Newmarket Walking Study
The report perpared by us with photos and cds has been handed to Opus
Long term community plan and community outcomes. Catherine Taylor responded to our letter saying thanks and she will think about it.
Andy to write a reply telling Catherine Taylor that we should be a stakeholder as defined by the Act and what is there to think about.
ACC annual plan
Andy to write submission.
Walk 21 conference in Zurich,
As Andy will be in Europe he will attend the 2 day conference with financial support from Living Street and Walk Auckland
The document West City Walk written in 1993 to 1998. A memoradum of understanding has been signed by the regonal councils and thanks to Greame Easte it includes walking. This will lead to green ways being created in the region.
Kit is working to change the ACC relationship with volunteer organisations. Unlike the ARC the ACC hasn't the policies and framework to use the volunteer groups like us. The current restructure of staff at ACC will help.
The meeting noted a pedestrian death on Ponsonby Road. Nicole Mace was run down outside the fire station on May 4th 2005.
