Marie attended a Road Safety Funding workshop and we will apply by April.
Graeme Easte told us there is a regular Council staff meeting that talks about walking. Cycle Action have a rep there.
Graeme will attend the meeting on Dec 18.
Raewyn Fairley, Auckland City Road Safety Co-ordinator has offered us $1000 in startup funding.
We will open an account and invoice ACC.

this shall be used for urban walking routes, bush and beach walks.

Footpaths and walkways
We now have a Footpath Report via Brian Rudman.

Marie to follow up on more standards and find the Asset Management Plan for Footpaths.
‘Footpaths are for People’ brochure is being reprinted by the council. Maybe get these distributed to schools for kids the use when walking to school or walking buses.
Robin and Andy meet Wes Hogman Parking Services Manager and he wants 6 months grace before we start so he can sort out policy on 13 narrow streets. We agreed.

There is a potential walkway in the Mangere Bridge to Southdown circuit. This is something we could champion with both Manukau and Auckland City councils. A plan is needed.

Graeme mentioned that many city building were granted resource consents based on public access through those building. Some walkway are no longer there.
Graeme will investigate if they still exist.
Presentation to City Development committee on Wed Nov 13 1:30pm when well.
They send letter saying ‘That Mr Smith and Mr Easte be thanked for their presentation on the future safeguards for common use pathways and that the matter be referred to the Manager, Auckland City Environments’
