WA survey on Ponsonby Rd. Andy reported back. The survey and results have been finalised, and are ready for presentation. Should we publicise them now, and probably lose some impact value due to it being just before Christmas and summer break, or wait until next year? As Ponsonby Rd is in the Western Bays Community Board area, Graeme suggests we should have a proper presentation to them, particularly important is the “slow down the traffic” result.
. Eden/Albert Community Board – Graeme visited them re walkways. The nor’west cnr of Eden/Albert is deficient in parkland area. GE raised the idea of a particular area of Chamberlain Park Golf Course being utlised for parkland. The community board was positive, said yes, interesting idea, refer to Open Space Planning Manager. GE contacted a journo from Aucklander mag,who showed some interest in this issue.
Andy went to “Getting There, On Foot, By Cycle”, presentation of the draft strategy to increase walking and cycling in NZ. We will put in a formal submission.
Robin to do the submission.
Motion passed that the Ponsonby Road survey road safety project will be billed for the Walk Auckland volunteers’ time at $15 per hour.
